The Winning Entity

The Winning Entity by Ken Linehan, AIA, LEED AP

In the course of 3 years, we have completed the renovation of 1590 low income units (HACEP RAD), 96 new build affordable (HACEP Haymon Krupp), and 262 new build market rate apartments (Bohannon Desert Pass) all within Metro El Paso. The Housing Authority for the City of El Paso has approximately 6,600 units (4th largest in the US). Our client Hunt Development put us on a response in an RFP for the RAD project. They just so happened to be the winning entity and originally it was a design-build project with Hunt leading the way, at the last minute closing they went to a typical design-bid-build, with the Housing Authority being the General Contractor.

The average resident income for the 1,590 units is around 39,000 per year, for a family of 4. This is 80% of the median income for the area.

Bohannon Development has been a client of ours for almost 40 years and has their largest massing of apartment projects in El Paso (Desert Pass, Desert Springs, Hueco Club, Resler, Edgemere, etc...) We are currently working on 2 projects for them another in El Paso and one in Houston. They have been and always will be an extension of work in the wild west as they are now branching out to Albuquerque and Phoenix.
