1963
In October, 1963, Lyle Fugleberg opened a one man architectural practice on Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park.
1967
In 1967, Bob Koch joined Lyle Fugleberg after collaborating on a project in 1965 and doubled the firm size from one to two.
1972
Fugleberg Koch Architects, Inc., was officially formed in 1972. Facilities for senior citizens dominated the firm’s design efforts during the early ‘70s with a multitude of projects completed within Florida. Multi-family housing, tourist related developments and hospitality projects were also added to the firm’s growing credentials.
1985
Fugleberg Koch Architects moved to its current headquarters building.
1986
The introduction of computers and other technological tools allowed the firm to begin utilizing computer drafting and accounting systems.
1987
In 1987, Fugleberg Koch Architects added the interiors-division, and began independent development and construction companies, thus allowing “turn-key” solutions to client’s needs.
1990
The 1990’s saw the expansion into new markets such as hospitality, multifamily, mixed use, and new urban planned communities. By the mid 90’s, FK was achieving national recognition for their achievements. this led to opportunities in lifestyle retail and community planning efforts.
2000
The new millennium was celebrated with the commission from Universal to design the Royal Pacific Resort, a 1,000 room Polynesian themed hotel with a large meeting facility. The project was designed and documented in a record 8 months and construction was completed in 2002, under budget.
2012
Fugleberg Koch’s theme park resort business re-emerged with the design of Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort, a 307 room full service hotel, which opened in July of 2015
2021
Fugleberg Koch rebrands to become FK Architecture
